Car Launches and Dealer Events at the Museum

The Yorkshire Air Museum team has extensive experience of hosting motor industry events and car launches using the versatile venue of the museum here at Elvington. Here are the reasons why car manufacturers, car dealers and specialist vehicle companies choose the Museum for car launches and events

Rural Location and Easy Access

The last thing you need for an automotive event is the frustration of heavy traffic. Our location is only a 15 minute drive from the City of York yet our rural location gives easy access both for your set up and logistic teams and your guests throughout the event.

Ample on site free parking is a few paces away from your large event spaces, with separate access for large vehicles either for display or setup purposes.

Perfect for Ride and Drive Events

The surrounding roads of Yorkshire make a perfect venue for ride and drive on road events. We can advise of the local York traffic hot spots and help you create a road route that will showcase your products in an enjoyable, engaging way. The diverse range of road types, from fast dual carriageways to picturesque rural lanes combine to provide a positive experience, all without navigating out of city centre traffic and just a few miles from the Museum.

The Canadian Hangar

The centrepiece of the Museum, from April to September, many of the historic aircraft within hangar move outside to create a large exhibition space that can be dedicated to car events.

Inside the Canadian Hangar, Halifax Friday the 13th overlooking your event

The historic aircraft make a stunning backdrop for large events and conferences, while the overhead structure is capable of incorporating your event lighting rigs, remote cameras and other broadcast solutions.

Outside of the hangar, the showground area is capable of accepting large outdoor display stands, vehicle displays and other facilities. Separate access gates give easy access for vehicles of all sizes to enable speedy setup and access for your logistical teams.

Airfield and Track

While the Museum has no direct connection with the adjacent airfield and associated track layouts, we enjoy a positive working relationship with the owners. Should you need off road and track based exercises, we can supply contact details for you to arrange directly.

The airfield is active, with published approaches for pilots and aviation fuel for visiting aircraft and helicopters.

Highly Experienced Event Staff

Our management team have long experience of working with a diverse array of clients of differing sizes and the Canadian hangar proves to be a unique and popular location.

Your event will take place in the same location as such diverse previous events as BBC Question Time’s live broadcast, specialist vehicle adaption manufacturers and car manufacturers and dealers including Audi and Bentley.
