Leading Disability Vehicle Manufacturer Chooses Yorkshire Museum For Customer Event.

The Yorkshire Air Museum hosted one of the UK’s largest disability vehicle mobility events recently. Allied Mobility Vehicles were looking for the perfect venue for showcasing their range of specially adapted mobility vehicles for disabled drivers.

Finding a venue that met their unique set of requirements could have been a difficult task but the Museum, on the outskirts of the City of York, proved to be the perfect location. They needed space, easy access, plus of course, an inspirational venue that would be unusual enough to give their guests additional reasons to visit.

The parkland grounds offered easy disabled access with no additional modifications needed for the visitors. Meanwhile, the Museum team created a huge area inside the main display hangar that gave Allied Vehicles the space and flexibility they needed to display the vehicles.

Visitors were able to combine gathering information on the latest mobility vehicle technologies with a visit to an original WW2 airfield location. And best of all, they were sharing space inside the hangar with the majestic World War Two Halifax bomber, Friday the Thirteenth.

Lucy Bradley from Allied Vehicles commented “Due to the nature of our guests, we needed a venue which ticked a long list of requirements. And the Yorkshire Air Museum did just this! The Hangar was huge flat space; offering us lots of flexibility for our exhibitions, the car parking area was large, flat and close by, the museum as an attraction itself offered our guests an interesting, interactive and fun day out.

If you’re looking for a venue with that added the ‘WOW’ factor then we would highly recommend… I mean who wouldn’t be impressed with a real life, full sized War World Two Bomber in the same room? It didn’t disappoint!’

Finding a large, cost effective exhibition space that isn’t drab and boring can be a difficult task. The Museum’s large hangar houses the collection of aircraft and can be quickly reconfigured for a diverse range of events, often with the historic aircraft offering a majestic backdrop to the day.

The Yorkshire Air Museum is the UK’s largest independent air museum and has hosted events as diverse as private parties and company training days all the way to live BBC Broadcast events such as Question Time. Located just a few minutes for the centre of the City of York, the historic parkland location was the original WW2 airbase, RAF Elvington and is home to a diverse collection of historic aircraft.
