A Decade of Training in York for Smart Group

For many Yorkshire based businesses, finding a training venue in York can be difficult. York City centre traffic and parking can sometimes be congested and while the City is beautiful, many companies would prefer a venue with easier car access, privacy and refreshments close by. They find that by moving the training venue in York to somewhere just outside of the city centre is a good option. This is how we help clients create a conference and training venue that is practical and unique.

The Smart Training Group has been coming to the Yorkshire Air Museum for more than 10 years and utilise the site for their corporate events and training days. They provide training and support for accountancy practices across the north of England.

Smart Training use The Elvington Room, which is located in the centre of the museum near the original Control Tower and linked to the NAAFI Restaurant. This location of the room is perfect for the seminars due to the newly installed double glazed windows and the double door system that isolates sound from the adjoining NAAFI Restaurant. This gives a quiet environment with no distractions, plus the close proximity of the NAAFI makes catering for delegates very easy.

Meeting and training

For breaks, guests can easily go out and enjoy fresh air surrounded by the atmospheric wartime base in a grassed area near the room or mingle with the visitors and walk around the site to discover what the museum offers outside corporate events. The added bonus of booking corporate event at the museum is attendees can also visit the museum exhibitions and hangars at no extra cost!

Like many businesses in 2018, Smart Training are rightly concerned about plastics use and the environment, an issue that is becoming increasingly important as we all realise the impact this has on the world. We do not use plastic water bottles, preferring re-useable glassware.

Smart Training feel that this is really important “We are delighted to confirm The Yorkshire Air Museum has never used single use plastic on The Smart Training Group courses. Refreshments are supplied in jugs and glasses made of glass, not single use plastic. We will continue to use reusable glass and china on training events”.

If your business is looking for corporate training venue in York, contact our events management team for more details or to arrange a personal site visit. We will be delighted to show you around the locations we have to offer and help you create a training course or conference with a unique atmosphere.
